At St Giles Animal Welfare, every role is essential in caring for our animals.
We’re currently looking for reliable, organised, and caring individuals to join us as Voluntary Laundry Assistants.
It may not be the first role that comes to mind when people think of volunteering at a rescue centre – but it’s one of the most important behind-the-scenes jobs we have.
If you’d love to support our work but can’t be hands-on with the animals, this could be the perfect role for you. Fresh, clean bedding and a tidy environment are vital to keeping our animals healthy, comfortable, and stress-free. By helping with laundry, you’ll make a real, positive difference to their daily lives.
Plus you get the amazing view of our enrichment garden from the laundry room!
Key Duties
Washing and drying bedding
Folding and storing clean laundry
Keeping the laundry room clean and organised
Hours
9am–12pm or 1–4pm
One set day per week (we kindly ask volunteers to commit to a regular day, so we know who to expect each week)
If you’d like to make a real difference and play an important role in the smooth running of our rescue centre, we’d love to hear from you.
Please email volunteer@sgaw.co.uk and we’ll be in touch to arrange a chat.
Thank you for supporting our animals!
