Name: Zeus
Breed: American Bulldog
Age: DOB – 6/7/23
Dog Friendly: Zeus has met lots of dogs here and he has done very well with playing and socialisation. He has recently started laying down when meeting other dogs and waiting until they have passed so we are assessing this and working with him.
Cat Friendly: ? Zeus has been around cats but can be vocal and try and chase them, therefore he would prefer to be without cats in the home.
Small Animal Friendly: ? Can’t assess this at the centre but we feel he would try to chase them and may be too boisterous.
Has been around Children: Not able to test this and we don’t know any of his background prior to rescue but he is a lovely boy that has settled in very well so far. Zeus would prefer to be in an adult only home as he is quite big and boisterous at times.
Crate Trained: Not yet been completed, needs assessing but we will update any potential adopters
How long can the dog be left without issue: Fine in kennel environment, doesn’t seem too worried about being left but normally people around most of the day. He has done well being left for very short bursts in the foster home but he will need this training continued.
How do they walk on lead: Zeus is quite strong but he does walk well on the lead now. The fosterers had done a lot of work with him and he has improved massively but this can slip at the centre due to kennel stress.
Any reactive behaviour seen: Zeus is sensitive with commands that involve ‘no’ ‘leave’ ‘cease’ or ‘ignore’. We are unsure if this is potentially something that he may have struggled with in his home prior to coming to us originally.
What are they fed: Mixture of wet and dry food twice a day.
Weight (kg): Weighing around 35kg
