Selma is a gorgeous terrier cross that came in with her best friend, Gomez. She is a very sweet dog who has had a sad start to life. She is now looking for a new loving home potentially together or apart, as long as there is another confident resident dog who can teach her how to be more outgoing! They were very frightened, but were finally caught and brought into the Centre so we could help them.
Selma is, understandably, timid around new people. We have recently had both of them in foster with one of the members of the team and she is progressing slowly, with the help of another resident dog and Gomez. She is very dog social and does interact well with familiar people once she realises you aren’t scary!
Selma is crate trained and does prefer to have her safe space when alone in the home, she does get worried when she does not have that space. She is very settled throughout the night in this. From what our fosterer has said, she is clean in the house so has more than likely been housetrained. She is not used to being walked on a lead so her potential owners will need to continue with this training. We are also unsure of how they interact with small furries and children, so a quieter adult only home with a patient understanding owner who will give her time to settle would be best.
Selma would really like to find an owner who is home most of the day and has plenty of time to spend giving them the fuss and attention she deserve, after an uncertain and sad start to life. Could you be her forever home?
