Name: Pickle
Breed: Shih Tzu
Age: 12/02/2020
Pickle has been with us for a very short period of time but has settled in well so far. He is a sensitive soul and has warmed up very nicely to the team here after some settling time. He has a lot of love to give but just needs that reassurance when meeting new people.
Dog Friendly: We are continuing Pickle’s dog socialisation here at the Welfare and as soon as we know more, we will be sure to update.
Cat Friendly: We have not seen him with cats at all.
Small Animal Friendly: ? Can’t assess this at the centre
Has been around Children: ? We believe that Pickle would benefit from an adult only home but could potentially live with children of 16+ years pending suitable meet and greets at the centre.
Crate Trained: We are currently assessing this for him and we will be sure to update when we know more but we feel he could benefit from having a crate as just a safe space option for him.
How long can the dog be left without issue: He seems to get on very well in the kennel on his own but once he knows you and forms a bond but does not become overly obsessed.
How do they walk on lead: We are continuing to work on this lead training but what we have seen so far seems to be positive.
Any reactive behaviour seen: Pickle can be wary of new people to begin with and just prefers people to let him come over when he is ready to engage if he wants to.
What are they fed: A mixture of wet and dry food twice a day.
