Gomez is a handsome terrier x who came in with his best friend, Selma. Both of them have been found together, very matted, hungry and worried. They have been through a traumatic time after being abandoned and left to fend for themselves. They were very frightened, but were finally caught and brought into the Centre so we could help them.
Gomez was a little timid when he first met new people, but has since been in foster with one of our members of staff, with his friend Selma and another resident dog. He has come out of his shell lots and really enjoys human interaction and likes to zoom around the house! He has a real cheeky, playful side once he gets to know you, as well as being extremely foody and loving his tasty treats!
Gomez has been crate trained and does like the comfort of having this as his safe space. In the day, Selma and Gomez will snuggle up together and not be bothered about being left for short periods of time. Gomez does need to have this space, otherwise he does grow anxious and paces.
He was not used to being walked on a lead before being in foster, but is now doing very well with learning how to walk a short distance on the with his foster carer. He would need a quieter, patient home with older children who will give them time to settle into their new home, would be best. From what our fosterer has seen, he is practically clean in the home with minimal accidents, which does suggest he has been house trained prior to being here, as well as being settled throughout the night.
We would love for Selma and Gomez to find their forever home together as they love each other very much. However, Gomez could also be rehomed on his own, as long as there was another confident resident dog for him to learn how to adapt to home life with. They could potentially live with another dog together as well, pending suitable introductions at the Centre. We don’t know what Gomez is like with children or small furries, so we would be looking for a home with neither of these.
Gomez is a real sweetie that has had a sad, uncertain start to life. All he is looking for is a sofa and comfy bed/lap to call his own. Could you give him the life that he truly deserves?
