Name: Bramble
Breed: Boxer Crossbreed
Age: 21/09/2023
Bramble arrived to us as a stray recently and has settled in well but would love to be in his forever home. Bramble has already been out for a session with our external behaviourist in Wellington so we could get as many assessments completed as possible.
Dog Friendly: We are continuing his dog socialisation here at the Welfare but what we have seen so far is that Bramble seems to have not been socialised much in his life prior to rescue and is still learning canine communication.
Cat Friendly: We have not seen him with cats at all.
Small Animal Friendly: ? Can’t assess this at the centre
Has been around Children: ? We haven’t been able to assess this but we believe he would prefer to be in an adult only home.
Crate Trained: We have not done any crate training here with Bramble as he is a large dog but we feel he may potentially benefit from having one in the home environment but not necessary.
How long can the dog be left without issue: He seems to be doing well here currently but the kennels here can be stressful. He would love a home with someone who can continue building on his time alone training.
How do they walk on lead: We are continuing to work on this lead training but what we have seen so far seems to be positive. We will be doing some further work with headcollar training but we have seen that he can focus and walk very well at times.
Any reactive behaviour seen: Bramble is currently working on his socialisation skills with other dogs. He lets out a squeal when he sees other dogs and is visibly interested but just not had the socialisation, he is a very sweet chap.
What are they fed: A mixture of wet and dry food twice a day with a lunchtime enrichment.
Weight: 25kg
