Name: Benji
Breed: Chow Chow
Age: DOB – 17/11/2022
Dog Friendly: We are currently assessing Benji with other dogs which is so far quite positive, so he could potentially could live with another dog already in the home pending suitable introductions at the centre.
Cat Friendly: Unfortunately we do not know what Benji is like with cats so a home without any would be best.
Has been around Children: Due to being a stray, we do not know what he is like with children but he does have a very sweet temperament and would probably happily live with children over 14 years of age.
How long can the dog be left without issue: Benji would really like to find a new home with an owner who is home most of the day and has plenty of time to spend with him especially with his medical needs. He will need to be given time to settle into his new home and only be left for short periods until he is happy to be left on his own.
How do they walk on lead: Benji walks well on lead but can’t be walked for longer than 10 minutes due to his condition with his legs. He must be walked on grass as much as possible or wear boots on his back feet to stop his paws from dragging against the concrete.
Any reactive behaviour seen: None seen whilst at the Centre.
What are they fed: Mixture of dry complete and meat 3 times a day as he was underweight when he arrived.
Weight (kg): 26kg
Benji is a real sweetheart who loves human attention but unfortunately we don’t know much about his past as he was found as a stray. He has settled in extremely well and enjoys his bath and grooming sessions. He will also need continued in home physio and potential further hydrotherapy.
