Volunteering is an enjoyable way of helping a rescue animal and can be very rewarding to both you and the animal. We have a range of volunteering roles from dog walking and cat cuddling through to helping raise much needed funds or home visiting. You will meet like minded people and enjoy developing or learning new skills.
We are currently looking for volunteers to help us at the Centre and at our many events we attend each year. Are you available to help for a minimum of 4 hours a week?
We are looking for: * Dog Walkers * Cat Cuddlers * Office help * Maintenance / Odd Jobs
*Home Visits * Help with Fundraising & Events

As a volunteer Cat Cuddler, I am often told I have the best job in the world. I can’t argue with that!
I’ve volunteered as a cat cuddler at St Giles for over three years. Got to be the best job around working with great people and lovely animals. It is so worthwhile and rewarding. Without St Giles Animal Welfare in our local community so many lost, abandoned and mistreated animals would never find their adopted forever homes.
I am loving my new volunteering journey with St Giles. Really friendly and welcoming staff, beautiful dogs to walk and interact with.
I signed up after losing my own rescue dog recently. It's good to feel that you can make a difference, no matter how small, to all those animals waiting patiently for their forever people to take them home.
I have been made welcome by both the dogs and the staff. It’s great being able to walk the dogs and give them a change of scenery.
When I joined the volunteer team I did so to keep myself exercised and help to make a small difference to the dogs in the care of St. Giles. A year later not only have I managed that but also had lots of fun helping out at various events as part of a much bigger team. I've learned very quickly that the dedication of both staff and volunteers is unquestionable. Long may it last!
