Oreo is a very special 10-month-old boy who has just arrived at the Centre and is looking for a unique home where he can truly thrive. Due to his high chase drive, which leads him to chase cars, and his tendency to become over-stimulated by-passing dogs on-lead, Oreo would do best in a rural home where he has the space to roam and explore freely. He is much more relaxed and social when off-lead, enjoying playtime with other dogs, which makes him a great companion for those with a bit more room for him to burn off his energy.
Oreo has previously lived with other dogs, cats, and had children aged 8 and above visiting his home. While he enjoys being around other animals, his need for space and freedom means that a rural environment would allow him to safely enjoy his surroundings without the constant distractions of busy streets or busy areas. A rural home would give him the opportunity to experience life with fewer triggers, where he can explore, play, and be the happy, playful dog he is meant to be.
Oreo’s ideal family would be one that understands his needs, is committed to providing him with training to manage his chase drive and appreciates his energetic and loving nature. He’s a sweet boy who just needs the right environment to help him grow into the best companion he can be. With the proper care and guidance, Oreo will be a loyal and loving addition to a rural home, where he can feel safe, secure, and free to be himself.
