Bethany Branson

This page is dedicated to our dear friend, Bethany Branson who we tragically lost  in November 2022 as she was heartbreakingly killed by a drunk driver in Bridgwater. She was just 19 years old – and leaves behind fond memories of her volunteering days here with us.
Bethany did so much good for the world in her time here, which was summed up by the judge at sentencing who said ‘she had been destined for a life of giving’. Her BARFC rugby family (she was a player from the age of 13 right up until we lost her) have held a memorial match in her name each November since. Raising money for St Giles Animal Welfare and her dearest Rugby Club.

Amy Branson (Beth’s mum) said:
Our worlds continue to be so quiet without our loud, passionate, spirited and bubbly little lady but, being able to do something so positive in her name, brings some light to the darkness in all our lives now 💔’

February 2025 we were able to open the doors to our new enrichment facility which we have proudly named ‘The Beth Branson Education Hub’ We believe our dear friend would be very proud and we wanted to make sure she was never forgotten.

We were very fortunate to have Amy and Ben Branson officially open the hub to the public and also become Patrons to St Giles Animal Welfare. We thank the entire family for all their ongoing support, love and fundraising efforts each and every year. We simply are amazed by their strength and determination to keep Beth’s memory alive.

We are delighted to announce that ‘The Beth Branson Education Hub’ has now officially opened! Community groups and schools now have their own space here at the centre to enjoy and use as an enrichment base.

We are dedicated to make a difference to leaners who may find the classroom slightly challenging.

Our Mission

To provide rescue support for abused, abandoned, displaced pets; to ultimately introduce them to a loving family and find their forever home.

Our Vision

To create a safe place for ALL rescued animals to find succor, healing and hope. To help educate and transform human/pet relationships through continual learning.

Our Values

To provide the same level of love and care for all our stakeholders as we do our rescues. To be recognised not just for the good work we do but for the good we inspire.

Volunteer

Volunteering is an enjoyable way of helping a rescue animal and can be very rewarding to both you and the animal. We have a range of volunteering roles from dog walking and cat cuddling through to helping raise much needed funds or home visiting. You will meet like minded people and enjoy developing or learning new skills.
