Did you know that on the 13th March the Government delivered a key manifesto pledge to introduce compulsory microchipping for all owned cats.
This is great news for Animal Rescue Charities as no matter how far from home they are found, or how long they have been missing, if a cat has a microchip there is a good chance that it can be quickly returned to its owner.
A majority of veterinary practices, including St Giles Vets, microchip cats at a cost of just £20.
Every cat that comes into Rescue is microchipped before being rehomed giving piece of mind to their new owner that if they should become lost there is the increased likelihood they will be reunited again.
So if your cat is not currently microchipped, you have until the 10th June 2024!
