Name: Zorro
Breed: Cane Corso X
Age: DOB: 17/04/22
Zorro is a lovely, young Cane Corso cross who has found himself with us in search of a new home. He does show signs of dog reactivity and any potential adopter would need to take this into consideration. He loves to be around people and therefore doesn’t like to be left alone. He has shown some signs of seperation anxiety however with the right training he may be able to overcome this. We hope someone will be willing to work with Zorro to overcome his fears and show him that the world isn’t as scary as he thinks it is.
Dog Friendly: Zorro has shown signs of dog reactivity since being with us and would need continued training to help his with his confidence around other dogs as most of his reactivity is fear related.
Cat Friendly: ? Due to certain behaviours he shows we believe a cat free home would be best.
Small Animal Friendly: ? Can’t assess this at the centre but we feel he would try to chase them and may be too boisterous.
Has been around Children: He is very excitable around people and children and being a large breed dog this can be too much for some children. We do feel with the right introductions and if the children are understanding of his behaviours he could live with children of 14+ years.
Crate Trained: Not yet been completed, needs assessing but we will update any potential adopters
How long can the dog be left without issue: Zorro loves to be around people and doesn’t like to be left alone for long periods. Zorro would need a home where someone is willing to work with him around his seperation anxiety.
How do they walk on lead: Being a young, large dog Zorro is strong on the lead and would need further lead training in his new home. He can also get overexcited at times and jump up at people when out and about.
Any reactive behaviour seen: Zorro shows signs of fear reactivity around other dogs after previously being attacked by another dog. Due to this he would need support from his new owner to show him that dogs can be friendly, and we feel with the right training and home this reactivity could get better. He shows no signs of reactivity towards people but can get very excited and jumpy.
What are they fed: Mixture of wet and dry food twice a day.
