Name: Peter
Breed: Pocket Bully
Age: 2 years
Peter is a sweet, young boy who can be quite boisterous and playful. He has shown that he needs more socialisation training as he can get a little too excitable at times and does play quite rough. He is a lovely boy would love a home with someone who is willing to work with him and provide him the stimulation and training he needs.
Dog Friendly: Peter can get easily overstimulated and has shown signs of possible dog reactivity since being with us. We believe he would need further socialisation with other dogs to prevent this from becoming more severe.
Cat Friendly: ? Due to certain behaviours he shows we believe a cat free home would be best.
Small Animal Friendly: ? Can’t assess this at the centre but we feel he would try to chase them and may be too boisterous.
Has been around Children: Not able to test this and we don’t know any of his background prior to rescue but he is a lovely boy that has settled in very well so far. As previously stated he can get overstimulated and can nip at times and due to this we believe an adult only home would be best.
Crate Trained: Not yet been completed, needs assessing but we will update any potential adopters
How long can the dog be left without issue: Fine in kennel environment, doesn’t seem too worried about being left but normally people around most of the day.
How do they walk on lead: Peter can be quite strong on the lead and has also shown signs of lead ragging when he gets over stimulated. He is still a young boy and this shows in his behaviours on and off lead. He will need someone who is willing to continue his training to help with these.
Any reactive behaviour seen: Peter has started showing signs of reactivity around other dogs and has also started showing some other behaviours such as lead ragging and nipping when he is trying to play which will need further work. He is quite a strong boy and we hope to find someone who is willing to work with him to ensure these behaviours don’t worsen. He will also need continued socialisation training to help him understand the world.
What are they fed: Mixture of wet and dry food twice a day.
