Name: Fernando
Breed: Mastiff x
Age: Between 1 – 2 years of age (unsure due to being a stray)
Dog Friendly: Fernando has arrived as a stray and has done very well being in a largely populated dog environment. He has met Goku, one of the other Welfare residents and they got on very well together. We are still carrying out assessments on his dog socialisation at this current time.
Cat Friendly: ? Not yet been assessed
Small Animal Friendly: ? Can’t assess this at the centre but we will monitor for any potential prey drive.
Has been around Children: We are unsure if Fernando has been around children but he is a large boy and would ideally be better with potentially living with children of 16+ years.
Crate Trained: We are unsure on this but we will update any potential adopters on this. We feel he could benefit from having a crate in the home as his safe space.
How long can the dog be left without issue: We don’t know how Fernando will be when he is left so will need gentle training on being left for short periods of time.
How do they walk on lead: Fernando does walk quite nicely on the lead and is very loose and wiggly when he sees someone he knows. He can be a little strong at times due to his size but generally walks very well.
Any reactive behaviour seen: He can get a little overstimulated at times but potentially this could be new exposures for him.
What are they fed: Mixture of wet and dry food three times a day.
Weight (kg): Currently weighs 28kg
